I’ve lost my save data for this game now, too.

I think I’ll just start again a couple of difficulty levels up once I’ve got an iPhone that actually, you know, works properly.

After saying I wouldn’t, I went and finished off the thirty or forty remaining Apprentice challenges this lunchtime. Most took about ten or twenty seconds.

I’m now on the Amateur challenges.

That’s the first one. Not very difficult, but a bit more interesting.

I decided to put this on my iPhone instead of Str8ts as, despite buying it in the 59p sale a while ago, I hadn’t actually started it, so no save game to lose.

I starts off absurdly simple. So simple it’s almost insulting and definitely not very interesting.

So I’ve been skipping ahead to the Academy and doing the challenges in there to get my rank up. I’ve done all but one level there, but the current 6×6 puzzles it’s giving me are really quite hard. I may go back and do some of the Free Play puzzles, which are the meat of the game, anyway. I just don’t think I’ll bother doing all the 3×3 ones.

Still in a puzzle mood, worried about the Str8ts bug, I downloaded KenKen Lite. I think it’s the same thing as the Killer Sudoku that’s in The Times every day. I don’t do it myself, but people in the office do.

It’s all right. The interface isn’t as good as the one in Str8ts, but it’s okay. The puzzles themselves are… fine, but that’s about it. I’m probably being a bit harsh on it because it’s £2.99, but it really didn’t grab me. Well, it didn’t feel like it grabbed me, but I did do all the puzzles in the Lite version before I turned it off, so it must have had something going for it.
