Gain Ground – This isn’t too bad, but it’s very clunky indeed.

Shadow Dancer – You’re a ninja! With a dog! Shame it’s instadeath hell.

Sword of Vermillion – Ack! This seems to be an RPG! Run away!

Super Thunderblade – Sort of like Space Harrier, but you’re a helicopter. Horrible frame rate, but it is at least fast and frantic. I had three goes, which is this lunchtime’s record. Or was, until I played…

Alex Kidd In The Enchanted Castle – You can punch cars to death, but try to punch a ball of poo and you die. Valuable life lesson there. Thanks Alex Kidd! Actually, though rock hard, this is actually really good and held my attention for a good twenty minutes. I even discovered a secret area under the ground. Finally – fun!

Sega Genesis Collection (PSP) http://inverty.com/2009/06/11/sega-genesis-collection-psp-2/ http://inverty.com/2009/06/11/sega-genesis-collection-psp-2/#comments Thu, 11 Jun 2009 07:39:00 +0000 That Rev Chap http://inverty.com/?p=2393 Didn’t want to play more OutRun, so I went to the games shelf to pick some UMDs I’ve not used in a while. Saw this and realised I’d bought it ages ago, then spent almost no time with it. Went through the list of games several times looking for something I’d want to play, didn’t see anything that grabbed me, so defaulted to Sonic the Hedgehog. I’m sure it used to be easier than this. It took me three goes to even get past the Green Hill Zone – and then Marble Zone, or whatever it’s called, killed me dead.

Decided it would be much better playing from the memory stick, so spent most of the rest of the evening copying UMDs to my hard drive, then back to my PSP, which means I didn’t actually play much.

Sega Genesis Collection (PSP) http://inverty.com/2007/08/25/sega-genesis-collection-psp/ http://inverty.com/2007/08/25/sega-genesis-collection-psp/#comments Sat, 25 Aug 2007 17:11:00 +0000 That Rev Chap http://inverty.com/?p=1343 On the face of it, twenty-odd Sega classics for ten quid sounds like a remarkable deal. However…

Alex Kidd – Bad graphics, horrible one hit deaths. Quite fun for five minutes.

Columns – Seems to get too fast too quickly. Quite fun for ten minutes.

Comix Zone – Incredible graphics, basic but reasonable beat-em-up fun. Quite fun for five minutes.

Flicky – Can’t work out how to shoot. I’m sure I used to be able to play this, but right now this not fun for two minutes.

Gain Ground – Too hard for my twenty-first century, molly-coddled gaming brain. Quite fun, though, for about a minute and a half, until level two appears and kicks you in the crotch.

Kid Chameleon – Annoying graphical glitch means backgrounds become a slightly different colour when scrolling. Still, kept my attention for an entire game and was quite fun for ten or fifteen minutes I played.

Ristar – Looks lovely, feels a little clunky. Quite fun for ten minutes.

Shinobi III – Most enemies no challenge, then a boss comes along which is impossble. A small about of fun, followed by frustration.

Sonic The Hedehog 2 – It’s Sonic 2, which means I still can’t do the Casino Zone boss. I’m rubbish like that. Good fun up until that point, though.

VectorMan – Looks lovely, but is too hard. Quite fun for five minutes.

Okay, there are a lot more games on there, but it’s not been too great so far. Nothing’s grabbed my attention.
