GCPD: Renee's Wild Lanternous Ride
1998/12/09
[...Chris <cs_bwayne@hotmail.com> begins...]
: Loren: What?!? Who said something bad about my Babs?!? If it was
: that Hotu character, why, I oughta... :)
Chris leaps up from his desk, where he had been snoozing, and draws
his pistol.
Chris: Huh? What? Something happened to Babs? Where...?
Loren: Whoa...calm down partner. Nothing's happened to...
Chris: Ha! You're just not telling me so that you can rush off and
play hero, huh, Loren? I see though your schemes!
Wayne sniggers at them, as he watches from behind his desk.
Loren: No, really. You were just...um...dreaming...that's it!
Chris: Dreaming? Oh, darn! Did I fall asleep on the job again?
It's the paperwork, I'm telling you... It's been
forever since
we've actually been out on the streets on an
assignment, you
know...
Wayne: That reminds me, what department do you two actually work for?
You never seem to be *doing* anything around here...
Chris: [ignoring the remark] I just hope the Commissioner didn't see
me... What time is it?
Loren: Almost quitting time. Why?
Chris: Just...wondering... [he glances at Gordon's door] Just don't
tell him about my date with his daughter tonight. No
telling
how he'll react!
Loren: Date? What?!?
The next shift of workers begin filing in. Chris grabs his coat
and hat, and slams his desk shut.
Chris Uh, time to split... I'll see you guys tomorrow!
Loren: Hey! Stop! You didn't answer... [Chris is long gone] me...
Blast!
Wayne continues to laugh to himself as he packs up for the night.
[...Loren <yu214952@yorku.ca> continues...]
Loren: Well, Wayne, if you really must know, Chris and I are part of
the Special Investigations division of the GCPD.
Wayne: What's that all about?
Loren: If I told you, I'd have to kill Helena. ;)
Loren thinks to himself, "He thinks I'm kidding..." :) then he gets
up, and heads for the door.
Wayne: Where're you goin'?
Loren: Didn't you hear? It's quitting time. You'd think a slouch like
you would pick up on things like that. :)
Renee: Hey, Loren, wait up! Can you drop me off at my place?
Loren: Sure, Renee, no prob.
Loren and Montoya head out to the SI officer's squad car, and drive
away. But something's afoot...
Renee: Okay, Di Iorio, where're you taking me? This isn't the way to
my home.
Loren: Yeah, Montoya, you're right.
Renee: Mind cluing me in, then?
Loren: Nope. :)
Renee: You know...I could call in for back-up and have you arrested
for kidnapping... :)
Loren: Renee, you're not a kid, and the guys at the station're are
always saying that you can handle yourself on your
own, so you
don't *need* backup. :)
Renee: And just *which* guys are we talking about here...?
Loren thinks to himself, "Hmm...I *wonder* who I'd like to get in
trouble..." ;)
Loren: Well, I heard Wayne say something, and maybe Eng might've
mentioned it once or twice, but definitely Wayne. :)
Renee: I'll have to remember that next time I see him, then.
Loren: Oh, and we're going to catch up with Chris, by the way.
Renee: Any particular re-- Hey, look out for that green guy crossing
the road!!
Loren: Damn, get outta the way!
Loren tries to swerve the car around the man, but he doesn't need
to: the mysterious man, glowing with a green aura about him, flies up
over the car and into the sky. Loren stops the car.
Loren: What the heck was that?!?
Renee: I *don't* wanna know.
The car starts zooming again, and Renee and Loren continue their
pursuit.
Loren: Aw, hell...I just *gotta* stop Chris before he gets to Barbara!
Wait, I know a shortcut!
Renee: Loren, Madre de Dios! Slow down!!
Loren plows right into another car, at a perpendicular angle. Aside
from a broken nail, Renee and her crazy chauffeur appear unharmed, as
does the driver of the other car. Renee and Loren get out of the car
to make sure the other person is alright.
Loren: Hey hey! Would ya look at that!
The car Loren plowed into belongs to none other than Chris,
himself. :)
Chris: *Thanks*, partner. You *know* Gordon's gonna have your hide for
this.
Loren: Not if you don't tell him.
Chris: And what makes you think I won't?
Loren: 'Cause if you do, I'll just have to tell Barbara that you're
going out with Helena. No, I don't think she'll take
to that
too kindly... :)
