Introduction To The GCPD
Loren Di Iorio 7th Feb 2000

Here's a list of all the established cops we often include. All ranks are taken from Batman: Secret Files #1.

Sgt. Harvey Bullock
Det. Renee Montoya
Lt. Sarah Essen (head of the Major Crimes Unit)
Det. MacKenzie "Hardback" Bock
Det. Caz Salucci
Lt. Stan Kitch
Commissioner Jim Gordon

Since they've been in use in the Bat-books, you know most of the people up there, and the way they act, it's us, the main characters who need explaining:

Lieutenants Chris Small and Loren Di Iorio are partners in the GCPD's Special Investigations Unit. They're both in love with Barbara Gordon, (who never makes an on-screen appearance), though Loren's history with Helena Bertinelli may indicate otherwise.

Wayne Hotu is the laid back member of the GCPD, part of the Criminal Investigation Department, who never seems to be doing much of anything. He's a loudmouth annoyance, who often gets his peers into trouble, while amazingly escaping any payback (well, most of the time, anyway).

The man previously known as JC007, a mysterious and troublesome covert agent, has forsaken his black ops past in order to join the GCPD under his real name, Owen Allaway. Chris has become weary of this addition, based on Owen's devious history.

There's a new Assistant District Attorney in town, and her name is Lennon Johnson. Her father had been a defense attorney whose pockets were lined with mafioso cash. In an attempt to break away from her father's criminal activities, Lennon seeks to offer Gotham real justice, and her recent appointment attests to that.

The Englishman who goes only by the name of Pi transferred over from the British Isles, in order to become a member of the GCPD. He's worked in Scotland Yard, and has some outstanding referrals to prove it. He and Loren appear to have worked together in the past, though the rest of the GCPD remain unaware of it.

Rookie officer Englebert Lau (called Eng by his friends) serves as the Chief Administrative Liaison to the Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department. That means he's Jim Gordon's secretary. Since he graduated from the academy only last year, his fellow officers enjoy making fun of him.

Sarina Wade is the GCPD's Administrative Supervisor. Aside from fending  off several male officers from making remarks about her great figure, she works at the front desk, processing criminal offenders, taking incoming calls, and handling any other problems that walk in through the main door.

Matches Malone is a seedy character who frequents the Iceberg Lounge. Thought to have been killed, he's been known to have a variety of "inside information", perhaps as a result of his proximity to the Penguin, who owns the establishment.
