Burnout Paradise (360)

I’m half-way through my B licence now. I might have got further, but I keep just driving around aimlessly. Well, not quite aimlessly. There’s still one gas station I’ve not found and I’d really like to find it. I’ve no idea where it could be.

Just before turning off the game I got the Parallel Parking Achievement, which was surprisingly easy. Either that or I fluked it.

A couple of Achievements this morning, one for getting my A licence, one for finding all the parking garages. Annoyingly, according to my stats screen, there’s still one gas station I’ve not found. I wonder where that could be?

Had a quick twenty minutes on this last night. Bombed around, jumped through some billboards, failed a Road Rage event, had a great time. (Even though it kept popping up messages telling me how good Dimrill is at the game at every opportunity.)

This is great, but I’m having trouble with the online side of things. I’ve not even tried to play online yet, but the leaderboards seem to take an age to update, I can’t seem to find world-wide boards (just friends only), I’ve had several “Can’t connect to Burnout Paradise server” messages and once the game

Compact Grand Prix done, I’ve worked my way through Muscle class and now I’m in the Coupé class. And then a few Crash events to polish off the session. Dessert, I guess. I’ve said it before, but it needs saying again – this game is so much better when you know what you’re getting beforehand.

The worst great game of all time, definitely. It’s got the worst interface of all time and I still can’t figure out how they got it so wrong. The difficulty curve is strange and burning lap events are much harder than anything else in the game. However, the actual game part of the game is

I thought I’d try this again. I seem to remember I felt it sucking away my soul last time I tried it, but it now seems pretty good. Nasty slowdown and it doesn’t quite feel precise enough, but it’s pretty good fun. I worked my way all through the Muscle Car series of races happily

Downloaded it from Live Marketplace. Has saved me some cash. I just can’t play it. It’s too fast for me. I crash into things I haven’t even seen. Burnout was decent. Burnout 2 was great. Burnout 3 started well, but got silly and had a horrible interface. Burnout Revenge just doesn’t seem very good.
