Peggle. Peggle, Peggle, Peggle. What is there to say that hasn’t been said? It’s a piece of bouncetastic genius that’s given me countless hours of pleasure across multiple platforms.
I hadn’t played it in quite a while, though, until yesterday. There’s only so many times you can play the same levels. (About six thousand, possibly?) Luckily, PopCap came to my rescue yesterday and released Peggle Nights as DLC for the original Peggle app. The original price of the Nights level pack was a cheap £1.79, but before I got round to buying it the price dropped to an incredible 59p. 59p! For Peggle Nights! Amazing!
That shit so got bought.
Now, I’ve played through Peggle Nights before, but I’ve not spent as much time with it as the original Peggle, so all the levels seem really rather fresh.
I’m working my way through Adventure mode and having a brilliant time. It’s good to be back.
Peggle, I love you.
I’ve finished the ten-level adventure and the first three challenges, but there’s still a fair amount to do. Seven more challenges, then getting the high scores and 100% of the pegs on each level. Not bad for free, not bad at all.
Ten free levels of Peggle with a World of Warcraft theme. Can’t complain about that!
Oh, wait, yes I can – there’s no Mac version, despite both Peggle and WoW being available on OSX.
So now I’ve gone back and got the high score for all the levels that I’d not previously done. (Bit odd that I could clear any 100% without getting 300,000 points, but there were a surprising number of them.)
Now what do I do?
And for the sake of completeness, I suppose I’ll mention that I played this for a while last night. I was trying to get over 350,000 on some level, I forget what it’s called or where it is, and failing dismally.
I have three levels left to complete 100%.
It’s never going to happen, I don’t think. It’s just got too hard. I’ve been trying that stupid level with the portals and the UFO for days. Days!
Keep forgetting to post about this, but it’s my lunchtime choice at the moment. I’m going through trying to 100% every level, having completed Adventure mode and all the challenges. I’ve done all but the last set of levels. Yes, yesterday I managed to 100% Frog Helix. I’m proud of that. (For reference, I used the flippers as my power up of choice.)
Meant to play more Monster Hunter after I got home last night, but Peggle has a way of disrupting plans. Was trying a 800,000 point challenge – and failing, lots.
Inevitably, I played some Peggle. Did a few more levels in Adventure mode, but the GTA games kept me away from it for the most part.
