A Gaming Diary
Level two finished. Fifty minute completion time, fifteen thousand trillion billion zombies killed. Final boss was hard – and it was odd to have to use real skill (and some power-ups, I have to admit) to kill her after the button-cashing zombie horde slaying of the rest of the level. Never mind, when you die you can restart boss fights more or less instantly. In fact, when you die you can just restart wherever you are. You’re put back to the beginning of the room or area you’re in, but there’s no more punsihment than that. I have to approve.
You can tell it’s a budget game in the environments. I’ve just been through a hospital, which was made up of a set of identical rooms and corridors. Doesn’t really matter, though. I never got lost and everywhere had zombies to kill. And the camera really is rubbish.
Oh, yes, and you get expetience points at the end of each level. I’m spreading mine a bit thin. I think I should actually choose what I want to power-up otherwise they could be wasted.
I think that’s enough zombie action for tonight.
Have you bought it yet?

You heard. Been playing this in co-op with my wife (except for one level I had to do solo for story reasons). It’s not the best looking game, the view in co-op is very restrictive and it’s all a bit cheap, but it’s the same good, dirty, repetitive fun I remember from Zombie Zone on

Plucked this off the shelf to test the PS3′s backwards compatibility. It’s not even listed on Sony’s site, but from the brief go I had it seemed absolutely fine. Camera was much worse than I remember and there’s really nothing much to it, but, as I’ve mentioned before, you’re a girl with a big sword

So, I’ve bought a few cheap PS2 games recently. Thought I’d copy them to the hard drive. So Dragon Quest VIII got ejected and in went the HDLoader disc. Ripped Michigan, Sega Classics and Splatter Master without incident. (Though I’ve not tested to see if they actually work yet.) Zombie Zone, though, wouldn’t copy. Got
