Bionic Commando Multiplayer Demo (360)
I would have much preferred a single player demo. Trying to work out how everything worked while being shot at by other people wasn’t much fun. Only played one game and first impressions are poor. The swinging mechanism I can’t quite work out, the guns appear to be a bit rubbish, the graphics aren’t up to much and it just all felt a bit off. Might be a question of getting used to it or it might just be rubbish. I’m leaning towards the latter right now, and would be leaning that way a lot harder if one of Twitter chums didn’t seem to be enjoying it so much.

The key to the fun I’ve been having has been the swing mechanic. It takes skill to use well, but once I got used to it I started having a blast. At this point I can swing all around the stage without touching the ground once. I recommend you give it another shot and just spend a round avoiding combat and swinging around the stage.
As for MP-only demo: According to the Bionic Commando dev podcast, they noticed new players picked up the swing mechanic faster in multiplayer. However, I would have preferred to start with single-player.
As for the guns, yeah they are (mostly) rubbish. What I love about the multiplayer is the swing mechanic lets me use strategies that don’t work in any other game. Also, I get a sick thrill using the arm to snatch a gun pickup before someone else and then kill them with said gun.
