Bionic Commando Rearmed (360)

Completed!
Okay, so it’s only on Easy and I haven’t found many secrets or done the tunnels or the vast majority of the challenge levels… but, still, completed!
The last level is incredibly long and difficult – even with what I assume are added platforms for Easy mode – but I got there in the end.
Fantastic game. I plan to play it more, but I’m not sure I could ever finish it on Normal mode. However, I may try.
Grand Theft Auto IV (360)

Story mode- complete!
Awesome final few hours, emotionally and in gaming terms. The last mission is a real [expletive deleted] but awesome.
Phew.
No bad missions in the whole game. Amazing.
Thank you Rockstar.

The Club (360)

You know you’ve got something slightly special on your hands when it keeps you up until two in the morning and then gets you up at half seven because you’re itching to get back to it.
Horribly compulsive, that’s what it is.
This morning I went through the tournaments I’d not yet done. Just on Casual difficulty. I was only really playing to unlock everything.
Since then I’ve been testing out different characters and doing the first two levels on Reckless difficulty. On the second level – I can’t remember the name, but it’s a steel mill sprint – I’m currently seventeenth in the world. Not bad, eh?
(Okay it’s probably because all the real players are playing on Insane or Real difficulty, but let me have my moment of glory, please.)
It’s funny how wrong my first impressions of the game were, looking back. I’m so very glad I gave the demo a second chance.
Ghost Squad (Wii)
Feb 7th
Hooray! Today I beat all three bosses in one play through of the game. That’s the first time I’ve ever beat the boss in the Third Mission.
I also got a new high score, which would be more fun if the online rankings would work. My Wii can get online without a problem, but I’ve never been able to use the online stuff in Ghost Squad. I wish I knew why.
Cursor*10 (Web)

Suppose I’ll use “Web” to indicate games played in a browser from now on. Seems a bit daft to label them “Mac” or “PC” depending on what computer I happened to be using.
Anyway, this is a lovely little way to spend ten minutes. Got stuck on the last floor for a while, but that was because I wasn’t paying attention on the way up the tower.
And that’s my first completed game of 2008. Bit of a cheap one, I know.
Fahrenheit – COMPLETED!

“I love you, Lucas.”
Where the fuck did that come from? Is someone on the team a Kevin Smith fan? Did they just want to throw in a Clerks reference?
Talk about love at first sight. Well, second sight, I suppose. Possibly third. But you know what I mean.
It makes no sense at all.
Anyway, I completed it. Fucked up a trigger torture section right at the end and got a bad ending, but went back in afterwards and got a better one. Not sure if there’s a super-great-mega ending.
Anyway, despite my moaning, I think the good outwieghs the bad. It’s pretty short – I played it for a couple of hours last night at most, and then today for… um, seven or eight hours, I suppose. And while there are some really, really annoying parts… a lot of annoying parts… so… what the hell is so good about it? It must be the interactive story stuff. It can’t just be the story, because if it were a TV mini-series it would be laughed out of town. And I suppose some of the action sequences aren’t annoying and can be quite exciting.
Phew. I’m glad I’m not a games reviewer, because I’d be stuck with this one. Maybe I could just rewrite the press release a bit and shove 8/10 at the end. Would that work?
