Thought it was about time I blogged about this again, just to say that I’m still playing it every day, even if I don’t actually mention it very often. Very little of note to report, though I’m having far too many games where I’m not getting any vowels. I’m sure it’s just a result of random chance, but it’s a bit odd. Also: annoying.

I hate having a rack full of useless letters worth lots of points. I feel unable to swap them, because, after all, they’re worth lots of points, but I can’t use them, either. So I end up scraping words worth tiny amounts of points as I wait for a decent opportunity to use my big letters. I guess that the best thing would just be to do a swap – but what if my opponent got them and used them against me?

This seems to be working better now. I don’t remember it taking ages to send any turns over the weekend, anyway.
It may be worth nothing that this is another game that uses the ringer volume instead of the game volume for its sounds. I let it get away with it because the effects are fairly infrequent – and because it’s too good to live without.

Didn’t play anything last night because I was up in London celebrating my Dad’s sixtieth birthday with soft drinks and tapas. (I’m on antibiotics. Terrible timing.) A very good time was had by all, even though my train home was cancelled and I had to get on a different one and change at Tonbridge. Bit of a palaver. Could, of course, have played games on the train, but it was cramped and horrible and I didn’t feel like it.
Anyway, the update to Words With Friends came out, but it’s still nearly impossible to actually send turns during the evening. Boo.

Performance lately has been woeful, with it taking a couple of minutes or so to send turns. It hasn’t stopped me playing, but it’s been very annoying – and given the lack of turns coming in, I’m guessing other people are having problems, too.
That and the “Performance improvements coming soon” message at the bottom of the screen. That also gave me a clue. I’m up there with Batman as the world’s greatest detective, me.

Woke up to an update for Words With Friends this morning. Apparently it’s got some bug fixes and a “new, improved” dictionary. Whether it’s actually been improved, or whether they’ve just, for example, taken out the rude words remains to be seen.
I have a feeling that you can play with people who haven’t updated, so there may words that my opponents can make that I can’t and vice versa. I’m pretty sure I’ve had that happen before.

It seems that my letters had a hidden message for me this weekend. That was the only one though. Didn’t get anything like BURNHIM or KILLALL. Not that would, though, even if my iPhone told me to. I’m strong like that.

I need to start some more games. I haven’t got enough on the go right now. Either that or my so-called “friends” are being slackers.

So, after installing WordPress, I didn’t have much time left for playing games.
I made my moves in Words With Friends, but that was all.
Anyone got any idea why the image in this post is on the left, when it’s set to be centered?
EDIT: Seems to have been a problem with the theme I was using. I’ll try another.

So, yes, more Words With Friends over the weekend, along with the news that Blogger are stopping FTP support for publishing. This leaves me with two options, really. I can move over to WordPress – a lot of work – or move to a Google Custom Domain, which would mean the address of this blog changing to something like blog.inverty.com. I’m not very happy with either option, to be honest. I’ll keep you posted. Either way, I think you’ll need to update your RSS links to this blog at some point, if you read it that way.
