Good grief, but I’m tired today. Didn’t do much gaming over the weekend because my wife and I were doing an epic sort out of our house. Boxes were gone through, bins were filled and the cat got very, very confused. It’s nice to be in work now for a bit of a break, though I suspect I may have to break down some boxes and throw some more stuff out this evening.
Anyway, I still managed to keep up with my games of Words With Friends, though I seem to be losing more than I’m winning at the moment. I’m blaming brain fatigue. And my letters. I always blame my letters.

Didn’t have time to play anything other than Words With Friends last night because I went to the cinema to see 2012. Takes nearly an hour to get there, then the movie was about eight hours long, so I didn’t get back until way after bedtime. No time for gaming. Anyway, the film had some brilliant set pieces and Oliver Platt, Woody Harrelson and Zlatko Buric were great, but it really felt like a great ninety minute film unnecessarily bloated with speechifying and too many subplots. Still, I’m very glad I went to see it at the cinema, because the good bits were tremendous. (Even if one of the best bits had been completely spoiled by being shown in a Sony commercial before the film. D’oh.)
Anyway, Words With Friends, eh? Lovely game.

Sometimes, I feel bad when I make game-changing moves like that. Not bad enough not to do them, but, well, it does feel a bit like I just ruined the game. Hopefully my opponent will come back with some huge move later on to wreck me.
(And unless the game allows Wookiee-language words, it’s not like I’ve got great letters now.)

Sorry for the lack of posts recently, but I’ve been off with my wife having adventures in time and space.
Well, that and I’ve had a horrible cold and sore throat and have been stuck on the sofa feeling sorry for myself for a few days.
See, look, I was very ill. At least we had excellent pumpkins, thanks to my wife’s mad carving skills.
Anyway, Words With Friends had an update yesterday. Changes some letter point values – N and L are now worth two points, not sure if there are other changes – and changes the amount of some of the letters in each game. Not sure why they’ve done that, unless it’s to make the game even less like Scrabble.
If they need to do that to stay online, that’s fine. Life without Words With Friends would be a sad, grey thing indeed.
(And no, there’s nothing special about that screenshot, I just took it when I remembered I needed one for this blog post.)
