Midnight Club: LA Remix (PSP)
Jan 12th
After some races in my Camaro I won a 2004 Ford Focus, which I’m now using. I’m not sure where all the talk of difficulty has come from here. The odd red race takes a lot of tries, but most races go down quickly enough. Unlike the 360 version this hasn’t been patched, so maybe the difficulty was downgraded between review copies and retail copies?
Or maybe I’m just excellent.
Nah. It’s most likely that I have more patience that a reviewer on a deadline, so though we’re both retrying the same number of times, it feels less annoying for me than the reviewer.

Chow gave me a phone box for making a delivery. A proper, old British phone box. That was nice. Met Resetti in the coffee shop. He’s not much friendlier when he’s off duty. Remembered to go and see K.K. Slider on Saturday evening. He played me K.K. Tango. It’s okay, but not his best work.
My wife paid off another mortgage and got another floor built on to her house. I’ve not even started paying that one off yet.

I am starting to get better. Slowly, yes, but I’m getting there. I survived to wave 27 and broke the 3,500 point barrier this lunchtime, which is a lot better than I’ve done before.
It’s worth pointing out that this is all the first level on the easiest difficulty. I haven’t even thought of trying any other levels yet.
Dead Space Dismemberment Demo (360)

TOO. HARD.
No, really. I tried the demo three times and died each time, even once I’d worked out I could change weapons and make it brighter so I could see what was going on.
It seems nice enough, but I couldn’t work out if I had a health bar or anything and each time I played would think I was doing okay until I suddenly found myself dead.

Snatch and Mayhem. The Snatch activity was very easy indeed – I only needed six “hos” for the final level and could take three at a time, but trying to do $500,000 worth of damage in Mayhem is proving tricky. Mainly because police cars keep running me over, to be fair.

Um, yeah. I, er, let’s see… oh, yes! Something new! Sahara visited, so I had to collect old wallpapers from villagers and then trade it to her for a Meadow Vista. Nice, but I’m not going to use it in my ROBOT HOUSE.

I got a new car! I won a 1969 Camaro in a race series. Was nice, as I have a mission to win six races in a muscle car. Anyway, it’s pretty fun, but sometimes refuses to go around corners. I’m enjoying this more than I was before now, though I’m not sure why. Nothing seems to have changed at all.
I saw an actual moving police car last night, too. It wasn’t anything to do with me – it just shot across an intersection ahead of me – but it was nice to see.

I got a peach in the mail from a friend called mrak. I bought a Lucky Cat in Nookway. I had a look round Redd’s new stock, but didn’t find anything of interest. I sold some fruit. I talked to most, if not all, of the McNulty’s residents. That’s about it.

Waiting for an appointment with the doctor is a very good time to play iPod games. I chose Crystal Defenders. Annoyingly, I seem to be doing about the same in terms of points every time I play. Time for a complete rethink of my strategy, I reckon.

This is dangerously addictive, doubling the length of a recent toilet break.
Be warned.
