Thought I’d try out the Endurance mode today.
It is aptly named.
I think I got through 37 waves before I finally died, just before losing the will to live.
Not that it’s a bad game – far from it, it’s excellent – but I really think it’s better suited to the shorter play sessions that the Challenge mode provides.
And I didn’t even come top of the scoreboard.
Mr.AahH!! (iPhone)

It’s Mr.AahH!! again!
This one’s something of a success story.
It seems that while I’ve been away, people have actually been buying this game, as the leaderboards seem to have loads more people on them than they used to.
This is a good thing, because Mr.AahH!! is yet another fanastic iPhone game you can buy for 59p. Hooray!
On the minus side, I used to be quite far up the leaderboards. I may even have been in the top ten at some point. Last night, though, I could only manage 2,506th in the daily board and didn’t feature on the all-time board.

And talking of games that don’t get enough love, we have iDrop Dead.
Look, it may look like a cartoonish novelty for people who think cuddly animal-based gore is funny and, well, it is in part.
But ignore the graphical trimmings for a second (especially as the blood and bones look like being replaced with woodland fruits and flowers in the next version, due to Apple skittishness, or something) and focus on the game.
It’s fantastic. It’s got a simple interface, but rewards experimentation and imagination. It’s terrifically well-designed and deserves a spot on your iPhone. Trust me.
It’s not the longest game in the world, no, but it’s only 59p and you get a huge amount of entertainment for the price of a can of Coke. It also seems to last longer than I suspected, because I’ve been back to it after finding myself missing it and seem to have been sucked right back in, though now I’m going for high scores and I’m not simply playing to tick boxes.

Level six completed!
Yes!
Now on to level seven, which is proving to be a bit of git.
Just like all the other levels, then.
Look, just buy this game, okay? It’s really, really great, as long as you don’t mind a challenge and repeating levels over and over until you crack them. Which, let’s face it, is probably most gamers these days. Bah.
I love you, Squareball, even if nobody else does.
Red Faction: Guerilla (360)

Had an hour or so with this last night and thoroughly enjoyed myself, though it’s difficult to know what to write about. I’ve not been doing any story missions, just side missions, so there’s no plot to talk about. (Not that the story looks like it’ll be all that interesting, but you never know.) I’ve been firing rockets, throwing around charges and shooting people, all that good stuff. Buildings have collapsed impressively, enemies have flown through the air amusingly and I’ve managed to shoot down some enemy planes.
I did do one new mission type last night, which had me riding on the back of an amazing vehicle shooting rockets at, well, everything in site. Some amusing dialogue from the driver. Lots of explosions.
It’s not really a game that requires many words.

Yesterday, I blogged about feeling immature for playing the word PUBES. Last night, I played the word in the screen shot below, which I won’t type out here.
It was the best word I could play, given my letters and the state of the board, but I’m really not sure that’s any excuse. I honestly wish I hadn’t done it, because I feel pretty awful.

This isn’t a full American football game. It’s an arcade game where you have to run down the field from one end to the other. Like this:
You also have to avoid the other men on the field so this doesn’t happen:
You tilt the phone to turn, use buttons on the screen for evasive moves, sprinting and showing off for bonus points and it’s really very, very good indeed.
