Bangai-O Spirits (DS)

An hour of lunchtime play. One whole hour.
How many stages completed?
One. One whole stage. The first stage in the “Other” section, known as The Face. It was hard, but I got it in the end. I’m now stuck on the second stage, which is killing me. A lot.
And just think, I thought I tried the “Other” stages because I thought they might be easier than the “Treasure Favorite” stages I was doing last night. Ouch.
Still, it’s not a bad thing. Even when dying over and over again, it’s still an awful lot of fun. It’s nice to be a bit rubbish at the game, because that means it’ll last forever.

Finally, the English-language version arrives!
It’s been a long time coming, but now it’s here. And was it worth the wait?
Well, yes. It’s fantastically addictive and hard as nails. (It took me quite some time to actually complete the final tutorial level – and I was quite surprised to see the credits at the end.) It’s half-shooter, half-puzzle and the one-more-go-factor is up there with Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2. Yes, it’s that compelling.
Amazing stuff, but I suspect it won’t be for everybody.

My lovely wife sent me a gold star for paying off my final mortgage, which is nice because the game gives you nothing.
No present, no statue, nothing.

I paid off my final loan! Hooray! Tom Nook doesn’t own me anymore! I’m freeeeeeee!

Today I caught some fish and a tin can. I shot down a present from the sky, which turned out to be a mountain bike. Agent S gave me some old flooring. I’ve paid off all but 60,000 bells of my final mortgage now. The trees should have new fruit tomorrow, so I’ll hopefully be able to finish paying it all off tomorrow. It’s very exciting to finally be doing it after all these years.

Picked 200,000 bells worth of fruit while Eastenders was on. Now only have to find another 70,000 to pay off my final mortgage and be free of Tom Nook forever.

Fireworks night! Hooray!
And a new KK Slider song – KK Folk. How can this game still have new things in after all this time?

I borrowed a cable off someone in the office, used Windows Sound Recorder to record the output from the DS, then copied the resulting WAV file to my Mac and converted it to MP3 in iTunes. Lots of fun, that was. Why on earth doesn’t my iMac have a line-in socket? For pity’s sake, Apple. Sigh.
Anyway, I made a song called Jason and you can listen to it by clicking THIS LINK.

There’s a new resident in Venture! His name is Lobo and he’s a wolf. Difficult to tell before guys have unpacked, but he seems cool. He’s on the dudes’ side of the river, along with Frobert and Big Top, so I hope he fits in. Whenever ladies move in on that side of the river they never stay long.

Made my first “song” last night that I liked enough to keep. It’s called Ransom and it’s slow, with a lot of weird effects and suchlike. If I can find a cable and recording software to get music off the DS I may put it up for your pleasure.
