Points spent.
Game played.
Fun had.
I’m currently leveling up the orange knight, who I picked more or less at random. I’ve found a few weapons, a couple of animal friends and am currently having a hard time getting through a cave. The game really needs better instructions – there’s no explanation I can find for a lot of icons you see on weapon stat pages, for example – but apart from that I don’t have any complaints. It looks good and it plays well. That’s enough for me.

Surprise new game! While my wife started the new Harvest Moon, I started N+.
She’s still playing Harvest Moon. I’m not playing N+. I’m stuck. I’m on the eighth or ninth episode and I have to do a jump up a vertical wall past a big line of mines and have no idea how to do it. It seems to be impossible and I can’t work out the trick to it.

A game! On the PS3! And it’s a good one!
It’s basically Google Earth meets Pac-Man meets Snake. (Nokia Snake, rather than Solid Snake.) You’re a tiny superhero guy and you have to fly around real streets rescuing people from zombies. As you get more and more people the trail behind you gets longer and longer. Do you take people back to the safe zone to get rid of your trail? Or do you let the trial get long so you don’t waste time running to the safe zone and back? Do you stick to main roads or try to take shortcuts through alleys that may or may not let you through? Etc.
I’m very tempted by the full game. I do wish the demo had more than one level, I’d like to know if the game gets too hard, or ends after a few short levels, or whatever.

Decided against trying the puzzle stages last night and instead finally cleared level two of the “Other Stages” section, which houses most of the levels. It wasn’t actually that difficult, really, I just kept leaving things too long before performing my EX attacks. That’s a great way to find yourself very dead, very quickly.

I’m trying the puzzle levels now. The first three didn’t give me any real trouble, but the fourth is very hard. It’s very similar to level eleven of the Treasure’s Best section – picking a path through falling blocks, many of which are indestructible – but much harder, in that there’s no obvious path through. Every time you move near the start there are many moves that won’t result in instant fail, but I assume there’s only one move at each step that’s correct. I’m having a hard time and may just move on without finishing this one for now.

Not sure why I played this. It hates me and I’m not overly fond of it.
Should probably have played the Galaga Legions demo again instead.

I decided to play this, given I got sent a code to download it and all.
I entered a Spinner tournament, which consisted of pressing the A button one hundred times. Not in a rhythm, not with any timing, just whenever I felt like it I could press A. Once I’d done that a hundred times and the random numbers had been generated the tournament was over. As it happens, luck was with me and I won some money and a special apple pie for Fable 2.
I mean, what?

Completed!
Okay, so it’s only on Easy and I haven’t found many secrets or done the tunnels or the vast majority of the challenge levels… but, still, completed!
The last level is incredibly long and difficult – even with what I assume are added platforms for Easy mode – but I got there in the end.
Fantastic game. I plan to play it more, but I’m not sure I could ever finish it on Normal mode. However, I may try.

I finished the Treasure’s Best levels last night – hooray! The last one, level 27, The World, took me quite a while. I spent ages experimenting with different weapon loads, then once I’d settled on a good combo it took me a fair few goes to actually beat the stage. I really loved it. An excellent balance between thinking and shooting. Quite possibly my favourite level so far. And it’s so simple – just you, six big enemies and a fully destructible representation of the world in the middle.
I just love the game. I’ve put hours and hours into it now and I’ve enjoyed it immensely. I may find that the Treasure’s Best section had the best levels in it, but I hope not. If the other levels can keep me going as these have, I’ll be very happy indeed.
It’s a wonderful game. It’s odd how half the people that play it love it and the other half hate it. I guess there’s just a clicking point that some people reach and others don’t. Or something. It’s very strange. I’m just glad I’m in the “love it” camp.
