Half-Life 2 Episode Two (360)
Apr 25th
Well, I’m never going to play through Half-Life 2 and Episode One on the 360 after all this time, so I thought I’d start off Episode Two. Seems pretty good so far, in a “more or the same” kind of way. Just finished an antlion siege, which was more fun than I expected it to be.

While waiting for Psychonauts to download I decided to play some Half-Life 2, as it was in the drive. Really was the best and worst of the game in one small sitting. Some excellent fights against the Combine, some fun head crab shooting and then some really annoying bits with stupid physics puzzles and annoying jumping. Also, everything involving ladders is horrible.
I tried to play some Sonic, too, but the kitten wouldn’t let me. She kept trying to claw the rings out of the screen, which wasn’t a good idea at all, so I had to stop.
And Psychonauts didn’t finish downloading until after I went to bed, anyway.

Half-Life 2 today. Just an hour of it, so I’ve not got far. The only gun I have is the pistol. It does look very nice on the 360 and plays fine, too, but it’s not been very exciting so far. If it doesn’t pick up I may just skip it and go on to Episode 2.

COMPLETED!
Very good game when it wasn’t crashing all over the place. I’m thinking about playing Half-Life 2 through again now, but I might wait for the 360 version and play it there instead.

Finally, again, some more play of this.
I’m very near the end now and enjoying it immensely, but it’s bed time.

I got past the big bad that had halted my progress – yay! – but shortly afterwards the game crashed. Again. And I had to rebooted my PC. Bah.
Better check when I last updated my graphics drivers.
PC problems: always drivers.
UNIX problems: always permissions.
FACT.

Oh.
An annoying boss fight.
Great.
That’s enough of that, then.

A few more minutes of this during an enforced period of being awake due to the evil that is hayfever. Ugh. I’m going to be dead again in work tomorrow. I hate hayfever so, so, so, so much. I fell asleep okay and then woke just after midnight with…
Oh, yeah, the game. It’s good fun. I like it. I shoot things and they fall over.

Too hot to sleep and the PC has headphones, so I can play without worrying about disturbing P’anther sleeping upstairs.
It’s great fun, though a little hazy due to tiredness.

Stupid confusingl-named games. This comes after Half-Life 2 and is the first episode of a continuing series of smaller chunks of gaming.
Just had an hour with it, of which half was spent decrypting and updating game files. Slightl annoying, but I’ve learned to live with these things.
And it’s really good so far. The best stuff from Half-Life 2 without any of the boring bits. But it was only the first half hour.
